Travelling from southwest Scotland, Sarah Jane Scouten is a BC-born folk and country songwriter, paying respects to songwriters Willie Nelson, John Prine and Bobby Gentry. She weaves in British folk revival leading back to her roots in bluegrass and old time music. After a transformative four years, training as a herbalist in the UK, Sarah Jane released her fifth album Turned to Gold. Sarah Jane offers a new depth and solidity as a songwriter. This is destined to be your next favourite road trip album.
Teilhard Frost is a multi-instrumentalist, specializing in traditional fiddle tunes, with a particular interest in the Appalachian Mountains.
He has spent the last eighteen years touring with the critically-acclaimed band Sheesham, Lotus and ‘Son. This trio is currently working with Hezekiah Proctor and the Hash House Serenaders. Teilhard’s latest solo album was out June 2024. ‘Four and Twenty Blackbirds Dancing on a Deer Skin’, an album of traditional fiddle and banjo tunes, harmonica bits and ballads. Living on Wolfe Island, he makes banjos, supper, and his bed.
Sarah Jane and Teilhard will be performing a mixture of traditional and original songs, together and solo on this Thanksgiving Weekend afternoon at the Wolfe Island Hotel.
