Event Description
Foot by Kayak (2025) is a 50-minute independent film that emerged when siblings Liam and Laura Douglas wondered how much of the island they grew up on they had never seen before. Over four days by kayak, they circled the foot of the island, including traversing the nearly impassable canal.
The project started out as an experiment in finding adventure and fun in the everyday; what emerged is an exploration of place, memory, and perspective—shaped by encounters with kind people, unexpected wildlife, and the landscape itself.
The film features music by Robert Douglas, Teilhard Frost, The Gertrudes, and more. This is a local journey that invites you to look again at the places you think you know.
The film screening will be followed by a Q&A.
