Event Description
Join us at CFRC 101.9 FM on Friday July 3rd 11 - 2 PM for our Airwave YGK Songwriting Workshop led by facilitator, Savannah Shea!
Songs can come to be in many different ways. There is no one perfect way to write a song. But once you write one song, it feels more possible to write another, and once you've written 10 you can begin to pick your favorites for performance and recording.
During this in-person workshop, Shea goes over her approach to songwriting that we hope motivates and inspires others! Throughout, Shea will share some of her methods to approaching lyricism, melody and chord progressions, and take participants through a few of the methods she uses to help combat writer's block or a lack of inspiration.
You do not need to be able to play an instrument to write songs, but if you do you are welcome to bring it along (let us know below)! There will be a keyboard provided. Otherwise, please bring something to write with and if you prefer typing feel free to bring a computer/ ipad/ cell phone.
