Event Description
Following the triumphant release of his latest album PRISM, musical revolutionary John Butler is coming to Kingston on April 18th for a show of epic proportions.
Forming a ferocious new band including original JBT drummer Michael Barker, Ian Peres on bass/keys and Michael Boase on percussion, these shows promise to be packed with the classics, groove-laden jams and Butler’s signature instrumental flourishes – a full two hours plus of sheer John Butler band power. Butler and his band will do what they do best, taking the audience through alt-rock explosions, heartfelt ballads and anthemic pop choruses, building on John’s legacy as one of the most revered live acts of his generation.
A master of his instruments and openhearted lyrical reflections, Butler has amassed a deeply devoted fan base, who cross the world to see him play. An activist and environmental warrior it is Butler’s grasp of melody and soul that have commanded attention for more than 20 years, superseding even the big hits such as ‘Zebra’ and ‘Better Than’, resulting in a swag of platinum records. His instrumental opus ‘Ocean’, a fan favourite, has gone viral countless times across the past decade due to the sheer talent and execution that John is known for.
