A special treat from an international talent. Award winning talent, Jason Fowler brings his next level fingerpicking and fingerstyle guitar mastery to The Cove on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 6-9pm, $25 music cover.
Jason Fowler’s latest album, FORELSKET, is an evocative collection of instrumental guitar music encompassing elements of folk, classical, jazz and Bahamian guitar styles. Jason has released 7 solo albums and was nominated for a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award for Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year. One of Canada’s most gifted guitarists, Jason holds an Honours Degree from McGill University in Classical Guitar Performance and is a two-time 3rd place winner at the prestigious Walnut Valley National Guitar Championships in both the Fingerpicking and Flatpicking categories.
Since 2001 he has been the Guitarist and Musical Director (since 2009) for renowned Irish tenor John McDermott and has performed or recorded with a great many other artists including Lorenna McKennit, Michelle Wright, Valdy, Amy Sky, Marc Jordan, Dan Hill, Susan Aglukark, Heather Rankin, Alex Cuba, Sylvia Tyson, Murray McLauchlan, and Nana Mouskouri. He has also co-written songs with Hawksley Workman, Dan Hill, Amy Sky and Mark Lalama, and has played on over 100 albums, T.V., radio & film and numerous Mirvish productions.
He was a great friend of Westport luthier Oskar Graf, whose guitars he has played for over 25 years. He owns 5 of them!
