Violinist James Ehnes has established himself as one of the most sought-after musicians on the international stage. Gifted with a rare combination of stunning virtuosity, serene lyricism, and an unfaltering musicality, Ehnes is a favourite guest at the world’s most celebrated concert halls.
Recent orchestral highlights include the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, London Philharmonic Orchestra, NHK Symphony, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Cleveland Orchestra. During the 2024-2025 season, Ehnes was an Artist-in-Residence with the Melbourne Symphony and toured Asia, where he performed the complete Beethoven sonatas at Kioi Hall, Tokyo, and performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
James Ehnes returns to the Isabel on the occasion of his 50th birthday tour with a concert featuring music by some of his favourite composers.
