Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Multi-Feature Performers starting at 8:45pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door


Mark Wonnek is a singer/songwriter originally from Winnipeg now living on Vancouver Island. His songs have been described as “a beautifully rare blend of poetry, stream of conscious thought, and comic surprise. This kind of slow pour of storytelling makes you want to listen forever!”

Shelby Marquette is a self-taught guitarist and singer who began playing at an early age. Fascinated by many genres of music, she has played in a range of bands covering jazz, classic rock, folk, bluegrass, and even heavy metal. In addition to guitar, she also dabbles with drums and banjo.

The Triple Standards is a group of Victoria-based musicians brought together by their love of swing jazz and songs from the Great American Song Book. Trio members are: Rejan Farley, vocals; Andrew Alley, guitar; and Murray Rutherford, upright bass. Expect to hear favorite classic tunes interpreted in new and fresh ways!
