Piner

Claya Way Brackenbury, a.k.a. Piner, is a local artist from Kingston, Ontario. Although she is a new artist, she is an old soul. Growing up Piner was surrounded by musicians who taught her to write her feelings and thoughts on paper and sing them aloud for anyone who cared to listen. One of Piner’s inspirations is her neighborhood. Growing up in the environs of Skeleton Park she experienced the wealth that comes from community while witnessing the reality of struggle.

Piner writes songs that let her empathy and understanding take over, by stepping into the stories of others. She hopes that her songs will allow listeners to connect with the complexities of the greater human experience.
