Event Description
Though the titular village in Cape Breton may seem just like any other picturesque community scattered along the rugged coasts of the Maritimes, the story that director Andy Hines tells in LITTLE LORRAINE strongly suggests otherwise. Based on true events in the 1980s, this crime drama charts how a group of struggling fishermen became embroiled with criminals using the same waters to smuggle cocaine from South America. Making vivid use of his East Coast setting and a superb cast (led by Stephen Amell and the great Stephen McHattie, and featuring Rhys Darby, Sean Astin, and J. Balvin), Hines delivers a gritty and compelling cautionary tale about how easily a community can be corrupted by the allure of easy money.
