CA Episode 90. Conquer Your Mountain with Jimmy Stevens from Rocky Mountain Live

Episode 90 – Conquer Your Mountain with Jimmy Stevens from Rocky Mountain Live

In this episode of Overheard Podcast recorded live in Banff, hosts Daniel Ruedl and Matty Rage sit down with Jimmy Stevens, founder of Rocky Mountain Live — a free digital platform connecting artists, venues, and music lovers across the Rockies.

Jimmy’s story is one of resilience, recovery, and reinvention. After years in the high-pressure world of professional kitchens, caught in a cycle of burnout and unhealthy habits, he rebuilt his life from the ground up. He lost over 100 pounds, quit drinking and smoking, went back to college, and earned multiple post-graduate marketing and event management certificates — winning awards each year for his work.

Now back in the Bow Valley, Jimmy is using his passion for live music and community to grow Rocky Mountain Live, a movement designed to help artists find their audience and inspire others to “conquer their own mountains.”

From the challenges of the local music scene to lessons learned in personal recovery, Jimmy opens up about transformation, purpose, and what it takes to bet on yourself.

Topics include:
• Rebuilding life through recovery and self-discipline
• The creation and mission of Rocky Mountain Live
• How to support and grow the Bow Valley music scene
• Turning personal challenges into creative fuel
• Advice for anyone ready to make a change
• Calls for community volunteers and collaboration

If you’ve ever hit rock bottom or dreamed of starting over, this is the conversation you need to hear.
