Live music in Kingston is on hold until December 20, 2021, and maybe longer, according to an announcement by KFL&A Public Health. The Section 22 Order issued by Medical Officer, Dr. Piotr Oglaza, is in effect from 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 through to Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:59 a.m., and specifically bans “...dancing, singing, or live performances of music,” among a number of other restrictions. The news release also stated that venues who don't comply with this Class Order could be fined up to $5,000 for each offence. In an email to member, Canadian Live Music Association President & CEO, Erin Benjamin remarked about the Order, “We are monitoring this region (and others across Canada) and will share more detail and relevant information as it becomes available.” Posted: May 3, 2023 Originally Published: Dec 13, 2021
