On Saturday September 13, 2025, Belleville will experience something entirely new: A music festival rooted in connection, creativity, and community, curated by none other than acclaimed singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas, and her partner Sean Sroka (Ten Kills The Pack).

After relocating to Belleville four years ago, Georgas found inspiration along the scenic walkways of Zwick’s Park. “We often go walking down at the bay, near the bridge that separates Belleville from the County,” she says. "We thought it would be really special to throw a festival there someday that features indie music we love and artists that I have made personal connections with."

What began as a dream quickly turned into years of behind-the-scenes planning. After navigating city logistics and scouting the right spaces, the couple shifted their focus downtown, drawn to the area’s "unconventional spaces" and untapped creative potential. "We thought it would be really unique and special to see an artist perform in a space you wouldn’t normally see them in," Georgas explains.

The result is Beautiful View (web link): A listening-focused indie music festival designed to introduce Belleville audiences to emerging talent and beloved cult favourites in an intimate and thoughtfully curated setting.

Personal Connections, Artistic Integrity

The lineup is deeply reflective of Georgas’s own musical journey, featuring both longtime friends and artists she admires from afar. “I’ve tried to find artists that I have personal connections with and have meant something to me in my career,” she says. “The artists that I don’t know personally we chose because we are genuinely fans of them.”

Among the handpicked performers are beloved Canadian icon Julie Doiron, whose album Heart and Crime Georgas calls one of her all-time favourites. There’s also Hayden, a fellow Dream Serenade contributor, and Bells Larsen, who opened for Georgas earlier this year. “We hit it off,” she says warmly.

Mentorship and community also play a key role in her curatorial vision. Georgas met rising artist May Shukla through a mentorship program with Venus Festival, and her appreciation only deepened with time: “She’s an incredible artist.”

The lineup also includes Kingston’s own Julia Finnegan (web link), discovered through the help of local promoter Virginia Clark of Flying V Productions (web link), who’s presenting one of the festival’s stages. “Sean and I were looking at emerging artists from Kingston and came across Julia’s song Sleepwalking. It was so beautiful. We both were like, yup, let’s reach out to her.”

A Festival Rooted in Calm

While most festivals are synonymous with chaos, Beautiful View aims for something different: a grounded, intentional space for discovery and listening.

“It really comes from a place of creativity, artistry, and wanting people to discover new music,” says Georgas. “It’s a listening music festival. I don’t think Belleville has ever had anything quite like this before… and there’s definitely a need for it!”

As for the future? Georgas is open but grounded. “We hope this becomes an annual thing. We’re taking it one step at a time because we both have our own music careers, but we’re passionate about it and would love to see it evolve and grow. That personal touch is so important—for us and for the audience.”

With heart, vision, and a little help from friends, Beautiful View is poised to become one of Ontario’s most quietly revolutionary festivals, starting not with flash or fanfare, but with intention. Posted: Jul 25, 2025
